We now have the 'Fong'!What's a 'Fong' you ask? Well, Gary Fong is a very talented photographer who developed his own line of shoe-mount flash diffusers to aid today's photographers. He created them out of necessity, since he was unhappy with the results he was getting with other items. For the last several years, his light modifiers have become very popular. Now you can check out the full line at Adray's as we are proud to be a Gary Fong dealer. We have in stock the Light Sphere II, the Whale Tail, the Origami, the Puffer, and more! Stop in and check them out. Nikon's New FX Camera - D700 - Available NOW!

The Ins & Outs of HD TV's |
Since color television was introduced back in the 1950's there has been no real change in the quality of television picture that we receive, until now.
Over the past few years High Definition Programming has been expanding monthly. Currently all of the major Networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and UPN) are now broadcasting many of their programs in High Definition. Morning shows such as; Good Morning America, The Today Show, and The View are all broadcast in HDTV. Starting at 7pm, you have Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. After 8pm, most programming is broadcast n High Definition. The first big difference you will see is the clarity of the image. It's like looking through a window since the pictures are crystal clear. The television signal that we are used to watching today will be eliminated in February of 2009. Our current signal consists of only 330 lines of resolution. When you watch a DVD and notice an improved picture you are watching about 460 lines of resolution. The best HDTV's produce 1,080 lines of resolution coupled with digital sound! This is the biggest improvement in a television picture since we moved away from Black and White. You have to see it to believe it! From our experience we have found that the Sony Bravia XBR Line of LCD TV's are top of the line performers. Sony also makes numerous different levels of LCD TV's ranging from 720p (720 lines of resolution) to 1,080p (1,080 lines of resolution). Toshiba LCD TV's offer an incredible amount of features for the price. We also carry the best from the Sharp Aquos Line. Some of the advantages of LCD TV's over the traditional tube televisions are the newer anti-glare screens and viewing angles as wide as 178 degrees! You can put the TV virtually anywhere in your living-room and have a great view of the TV. In addition, the thin profile of the LCD TV allows for a space-saving design. Some large TV's are only about 4 inches thick - you can place the right up against the wall! Better yet, we stock wall-mounts so you can hang them right on the wall. Another great advantage to many of the LCD TV's is their ability to be used as a computer monitor. Only select models have this functionality, just ask the Adray experts and they will help find the best television for you. So what else will you need? Most of the LCD TV's need an HDMI cable in order to be connected at the highest resolution. We're still in the process of getting the HDMI cables up on our webpage, but just ask, we can add a cable for as little as $39.99. You'll also want to add a Blu-Ray player, since Blu-Ray disks produce the high quality needed for these high resolution TV's. You may also want to consider upgrading your cable or satellite TV service to include more High Definition programming. Is this going to cost a fortune? No, you don't need to go overboard if you don't want to. there are many TV's available for well under $1000. Also, you can still play your old DVD's on the new screens without any adapters or converters. In fact, you can even buy select Blu-Ray players that will artificially up-res your DVD's making them look close to High Definition, bringing new life out of your old movies. After the initial purchase of the display, there is really little more that you must spend. By the way, we can match or beat any legitimate price. Bring in the ad and we'll let you walk out with extra money in your wallet! If you're still confused, we can help. Call 1-800-65-ADRAY (652-3729) and ask for one of our Television experts. Better yet, stop in and see them in person, it is amazing how good these things are in person. The Adray Television experts can do much more than read the side of the box like they do at other places. They can answer all of the tough, technical questions. I was personally surprised at how nice the TV's looked, even when it wasn't the most expensive or top-of-the-line TV. Now if we could just get another stimulus check to put towards a new TV.... |
